ABOUT THIS PIECE
Three available – please specify which one you are ordering in the notes at checkout.
Handmade using variety of coloured glasses, some of which are from Brighton’s Palace Pier and mounted in a piece of locally found driftwood. I collect driftwood when out walking my dog on our local Sussex beach. This looks amazing with the sunlight or a lamp shining through to create pools of patterned light reminiscent of the patterns of sunlight on water adding colour to your space. The glasses used are transparent and opaque with slight textures and variations in the glass. Made using a traditional copper foiling method and designed to last for generations.
Hand-crafted art glass, variations of texture and colour are part of the process of glass manufacture and give a distinctive character to each piece. None of the glass is painted.
HOW IT’S MADE
This is made using the traditional Tiffany technique, each piece of glass is cut out by hand from a larger sheet of glass, filed down to shape if needed, copper foil is adhered around the pieces of glass and it is then, soldered to the key, cleaned, polished and polished again to finish.
